These meditations are specifically designed for children and teens anywhere between 7 and 17 years of age. The meditations will be different each time, and will include different components like relaxation techniques, guided visualizations, crafts (i.e. drawing), playing musical instruments etc. The meditations are focused on helping youngsters not only cope but thrive in today's world full of stressful factors and turmoil. The techniques learned during these fun evenings can be used at home or in the classroom if the child starts to feel frustrated or stressed out. They are tools that the child will be able to use for the rest of his or her life!
The word "meditation" is a word that seems very big for such a simple practice. There are many different ways to meditate; reading a book, doing crafts, closing your eyes and listening to the wind are only a few examples. The funny thing is that people are meditating on a daily basis even though they might not call it that!
No matter what age you are, everybody can meditate! Many adults might have trouble relaxing and letting go of stress and worries, opening their inner mind to experience the meditation with all their senses. Children on the other hand are naturally open, imaginative and have an easier time letting go and delve into the world of visualization.
Meditation has been proven to be beneficial for many different aspects. Stress reduction, improved sleep, healthier eating habits, better focus and improved self-esteem are only a few benefits.
