Handmade by local Indigenous artist, Lee Deranger. These gorgeous drums are made with deer hide and an extremely solid wood ring (these animals were not sport hunted). Each drum has a different voice, dependant on the the thickness and stretch of the hide. Colour will also vary.
A drums ‘voice’ can change depending on humidity, if the sound becomes a dull thud, dry out the drum perferably in the warm sun and the drum will regain it’s beautiful sound. Drums are best stored laying flat in a dry location.
